Project on Promoting SME Industrial Cluster Development in APEC Region Letter of Invitation

Across Asia-Pacific region, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) serve as vital drivers of employment growth and economic prosperity. Promoting cluster development has emerged as an effective strategy to boost SME innovation and productivity with strong leadership in core industries, competitive advantages, efficient networking, and robust support systems. These vibrant ecosystems bring together high-quality SMEs that thrive through integrated support and dynamic business networks. Yet despite this potential, many SME clusters across the region continue to face significant development challenges that hinder their performance.
In implementation of the 30th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting Pucallpa Statement, which strives to “Leverage industrial clusters to foster MSME development, including by enhancing supply chain networks, promoting collaborative innovation, and establishing connections with large companies to support their growth and integration into global markets”, China Centre for Promotion of SME Development will organize an APEC SME Industrial Cluster Development Matchmaking Activity on June 28 in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China, in the meanwhile of the 20th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair, currently one of the most prestigious, largest, and most influential international fair for SMEs in Asia Pacific.
This activity aims to foster dialogue on locally rooted industrial clusters, unlock new growth drivers for SME clusters through digital transformation and green development. The activity will comprise themed speeches, round table discussions, and field trip to characteristic industrial clusters in Guangzhou City.
Participants will gain access to valuable knowledge, best practices, and tailored capacity-building initiatives designed to address their specific needs. They will also have the opportunity to explore collaboration and market expansion. Additionally, policymakers and SME service institutions involved in SME development and industrial policy formulation will benefit from insights into emerging trends, challenges, and suggestions on in cluster development. These insights will empower them to better support SME growth and strengthen cluster ecosystems.
